Subscription and automatic renewal terms
Effective 13 August 2026. This page applies to ace-bl.tech and to the Ace application for macOS.
Michael Barber is the merchant offering and selling Ace.
In plain English
This is an automatically renewing subscription. You pay $1 today for your first week. On day 8 your card is charged $20, and it is charged again every month after that, until you cancel.
Cancel at any time with the Cancel at period end button in your account. No phone call, no retention offer, no reason required. Cancel before day 8 and the dollar is all you spend.
This summary is for orientation only. The numbered terms below are the agreement.
1. The offer, stated in full
| What renews | Your Ace subscription, monthly |
|---|---|
| First week | $1, charged today. A payment method is required. |
| Monthly subscription starts | Day 8, unless you cancel before then |
| Amount | $20 per month in USD |
| Renewal frequency | Every month, on the same day, indefinitely |
| How to cancel | the Cancel at period end button in your account |
| Cancellation deadline | Any time before your next renewal date. Cancel before day 8 and the first dollar is all you spend. |
| What you keep after cancelling | Access until the end of the period you have already paid for |
2. Your consent
By starting the $1 first week you are agreeing to these automatic renewal terms, which are presented to you next to the button you press — not only on this page. We record the date and time you agreed and send you an acknowledgment by email that repeats these terms, the amount, the renewal date and how to cancel, so you have them in writing without having to come back here.
3. How to cancel
Cancelling is self-service and does not require you to speak to anybody.
- In your account — sign in at your account and choose Cancel at period end. Ace records it directly with Stripe. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the period already paid for; no reason is required.
- By email if the account path is unavailable — use this prefilled cancellation email. We verify a request from the address on the account, record it, and send written confirmation.
- You will never be routed to a phone line, put through a retention script, offered a discount to stay, or asked to explain yourself. If any of that ever happens to you, it is a defect — report it and it will be fixed.
The cancellation method is at least as easy as the method you used to subscribe. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not by itself refund a charge already taken. A month you have paid for stays available to you until the end of that billing period and is not refunded for a change of mind or a missed cancellation. A verified material Ace defect that support cannot repair is refunded — see refunds for the exact terms.
4. Price changes
If the subscription price changes, we will email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect, telling you the old price, the new price, the date, and how to cancel. A price increase never applies to a period you have already paid for. Continuing after that date is what accepts the new price; cancelling before it means you are never charged it.
5. What the subscription does not include
The Ace subscription does not include a ChatGPT or Claude account. That subscription is bought from, billed by, and cancelled with that provider — not with us. Ace cannot reason without one. Which of their plans qualify is set by OpenAI and Anthropic, not by us. Cancelling Ace does not cancel your provider subscription, and cancelling theirs does not cancel Ace.
6. Failed payments
If a charge fails we retry over the following few days and email you. If it keeps failing, the subscription is suspended rather than silently accruing a debt. Nothing is sent to collections.
